We have been big fan’s of Sago Mini and their toddler-friendly apps over the last year. When we travel we always make sure we have some of their latest and greatest apps uploaded for when our son needs some downtime.

They are also a parent-friendly as well! There are zero in-app purchases, so you can rest assured that your child won’t be asking you to download a full version of the game, or if they are allowed to buy characters to play.

Sago Mini Superhero Review

Since my son has been such a big fan of these characters in the game, it seemed like a natural progression for him to want to have some of the characters as toys.

Sago Mini released some very adorable plush toys of the characters, which made my son and all of the other Sago Mini fans very happy!

Jinja the cat even travelled with us on a cruise last year! We couldn’t leave him at home!

My son loves Jinja the most, so he was very excited to see that Jinja’s house was Sago Mini’s latest toy launch! He carries this house everywhere, and he’s used it as a proper carrying case of all of the pieces that belong in the house. Jinja’s house makes my life easier as well because it packs up so nicely, and it’s a compact playset that keeps my toddler occupied when we are on the go!

Review of Sago Mini Trucks and Diggers

Review of Sago Mini Trucks and Diggers

The look on my son’s face was priceless when I told him Sago mini was coming out with a new app called Sago Mini Trucks and Diggers.

It was like I told him the best news he had ever heard in his relatively young life. He wanted to play it immediately, and the lucky kid got to test it out last week just before the launch. Who’s the coolest mom ever? Me thank you! Ok, I relished in my coolness for a moment before he was completely submerged in playing with the new app.

My son is almost 4 years old, so he is the perfect age for this app which is geared towards 2 – 5 year olds.

There is a new character in this app called Rosie the hamster, and Rosie overseas all of the work done with the trucks and diggers.

All of the regular characters from the Sago Mini apps also pop up along the way which my son was very happy about because he wondered right away where his favourite character Jinja the cat was.

Kids load trucks with dirt, push dirt around on the construction site, and even use a crane and a spinner to work on building a home in the game. Once they finish building they can go ahead and decorate the home as well which was a really fun aspect of the game for my son.

The best part about this and the rest of the Sago Mini apps? My son never needs to ask for help while he’s playing – every move in the app is almost natural and makes sense to him. He doesn’t become frustrated or upset because he can handle any of the challenges that he comes across. It’s a relief to both of us that he can just enjoy himself and he doesn’t feel like he can’t do something in the app. The fact that there are no in-app purchases or advertisements in this or any of the other released apps keeps me committed to Sago Mini!

Both my son and I love this new app from Sago Mini. They are completely in touch with what kids love, and there isn’t a Sago Mini app we’ve tried that we didn’t like!

You can find the app in the iTunes Store here!

Our Play Date at the Sago Sago Design Studio!

Sago-play-date

One week ago I introduced my son to an app called Sago Mini Space Explorer, and I have have not stopped hearing about it since!

The App was created by a company called Sago Sago, and last week were were invited for a play date at their downtown studio in Toronto.

Sago Play Date’s are hosted right in the heart of the Sago Sago offices. I was surprised to find out that Sago Sago was located in Toronto.

The studio is bright, inviting, and the perfect spot for a play date! There was a table with crayons, colouring pages, and a craft to make your own mask. In the same room there were lots of children’s books, and a television. A separate room had toys, more books, and a chalk board. We settled right in and met some of the Sago Sago staff. Everyone seemed very friendly, and genuinely happy to meet us and talk about their products.

My son sat with some of the staff, and played with apps that we had not only downloaded, but all of the Sago Mini apps that have been launched, including one not yet released and under development.

The iPad was able to capture his choices while he was playing with the apps, and Sago Sago can then understand his pattern of play.

While there he had the opportunity to play with toys, colour, make a craft, or generally just run around, but we couldn’t get him away from the Sago Mini apps! Actually, there was one thing we did to draw him away from the iPad – they even hosted a snack time for him during the play date as well. They offered crackers, apple slices, Goldfish, apple sauce, and juice. He was pretty excited about the snacks!

While there we also had the opportunity to have a sneak peek at the new Sago Mini Plush Toys. They represent the characters found in the Sago Mini apps, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to get a hold of Harvey the Dog considering how popular he is at my house! They are launching soon, but you can pre-order them now here.

There are 11 Sago Mini apps available on the iTunes Store now, and as a parent I would recommend them all. My son easily went from trying one app to the next, switching between characters, and moving from one activity to the next. Sago Mini apps do not contain in-app purchases or third-party advertising which is a relief! For more information check out www.sagosago.com
