Tips for Spending the Day at Canada's Wonderland with a Toddler

We recently spent a day at one of our favourite attractions – Canada’s Wonderland – and now that our son is 4 he seems to be the perfect age to visit the park!

We had Season Passes last year as well, but our first visit this year was memorable because our son loved going on as many rides as possible.

I complied a list of tips for how to best spend a day with a toddler at Canada’s Wonderland for anyone who is thinking about visiting soon themselves!

1. Bring a stroller, or take advantage of stroller rentals at the park!

Our toddler tends to suddenly claim exhaustion and flail onto the concrete so we were sure to bring our stroller with us to the park. Alternatively you can rent single or double strollers at the park for the day, so don’t worry if you forgot to bring your own!

2. Take advantage of preferred parking

We decided to try out the preferred parking, and we have to say it was very convenient. It’s situated right beside the front gates, and with all of the walking we normally do at the park it was nice having an easy-to-find parking spot close to the front of the park.

3. Take advantage of the rider height check at the front of the park.

The last thing you want is for your little one to be disappointed to not be allowed on certain rides due to height restrictions, so take advantage of checking your child’s height when you enter the park. Their wristband for the day will help you to determine which rides to offer to your child, and to avoid any tears at the park!

4. Plan what you will be eating for the day.

We love eating our way throughout the park, so it’s important to plan where you want to eat before you start your day so you can figure out where to start at the park. We didn’t do a great job planning at our visit and although I really wanted to try the new Muskoka Craft Burger and Beer, but we ended up being on the other side of the park when our toddler was ready to eat!

Next time we would plan out our trip a little more so we could hit certain food stops. We of course made time for a funnel cake, and Starbucks for a pick-me-up!

5. Take your time and enjoy your visit.

I tend to rush around, and I’m not a big fan of line up’s, but for our visit I decided to stop rushing and just enjoy whatever happened that day. We had the best time just wandering around and visiting anything our son wanted to see. He had such a great time on all of the rides, and we had a great day walking around with him! Plus I got funnel cake, so I was a happy girl!
