Believe it or not, this is actually my first ugly Christmas sweater!
This holiday trend is one I have always wanted to try, but I’ve never had the opportunity to style one myself. Basically no one has invited me to their ugly Christmas sweater holiday party. I actually didn’t realize that until now – sounds like I need to throw my own party! I’m now holiday party ready, so I need to get something organized.
I couldn’t wait to put my own spin on this sweater. I picked it up at Walmart where they had so many ugly Christmas sweaters to choose from, and after some deliberation I thought that the women’s George elf-style sweater was perfect. There was an adorable Rudolph sweater that came a VERY close second.
Walmart not only had a great selection, but the pricing was so much better than I could have expected.
The funny thing is that I think this sweater isn’t all that ugly – I think it’s actually really cute. I love the sleeves and the pom-pom detail. I’m thinking I will give this sweater more than a few spins during the holidays.
I couldn’t just wear this sweater in a simple way – I had to add my own flair to it. I paired it with a classic leather jacket to give it a fashionable spin.
I think this look is perfect for the holidays – I’m calling this look ugly Christmas sweater chic!
This sweater will be perfect to wear more casually as well with a simple pair of jeans or even a leather skirt. This sweater has so much going on that the rest of the look needs to be a bit more classic and toned down for daytime wear.
Now that I have this look I’m seriously considering hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party – this festive look has me ready for holidays!
