A couple months ago I attended an event where I not only learned what a Cricut was, but luckily enough came home with one! I couldn’t believe after being introduced to this machine that I ever lived without it.
To say I’ve made some pretty cool projects is an understatement – it wow’s me all the time with its capabilities.
I can put my own designs on anything from clothing to pillows, and I can even create my own greeting cards and print my own art!
I’ve had so much fun these last few months figuring out which project to try next with my Cricut, but since we are entering the holiday season the most obvious choice had to be making a Christmas ornament!
This project took me about 30 minutes, and I truly think the results are pretty incredible considering how short of a time it took and how easy this was to execute!
This year’s Christmas tree in our home is getting a little revamp, and it’s all centering around black and white striped ribbon.
I decided to put together a couple ornaments that fell in line with my new theme, and they were super easy to create!
I picked up some clear glass ornaments, Krylon Black Chalk Board Paint, gold sparkles, black and white striped ribbon, and Cricut gold Vinyl from Michael’s for the project, and the only other thing I needed was my Cricut!
The first ornament was very easy – I just chose a simple font on my Cricut app and printed “noel” for the ornament. I filled the ornament with sparkles, and tied a ribbon around the ornament and voila!
The second ornament was a bit more tricky, but still easy overall.
I painted the ornament with the Krylon Black Chalkboard Paint, and after drying printed out a template on the Cricut App that I liked which said “be merry and bright”.
Once I transferred it onto the ornament I again tied a ribbon around it and I was finished.
Such a quick and easy project, but the contrasting ornaments look so pretty and stylish!
I’m going to keep working on my tree ornaments since my Cricut is such a fun and easy way to create the exact look I’ve envisioned for this year’s tree.
Now for the fun part – I’ve teamed up with a group of 13 fabulous Cricut-loving blogging gals to give away a mint green Cricut Explore Air 2.
Check out some of these amazing ornaments the group created below, and enter to win.
This contest is open to US and Canadian residents, and one winner will be selected randomly from the widget below.
