One of my favorite things to do is spend the weekend with my girlfriends! As much as I love my hubby, it’s nice to get away with my girlfriends for a weekend of shopping, gossip, good food, and just having fun
I just got back from an amazing weekend in Toronto with some blogger babes I’m sure you already know – Zeba from Ella Pretty Blog, Jenelle from Nelle Creations and Eleni from Bijuleni!
We had an amazing time – it was so good we actually couldn’t fit it into one post, so this is part one of our amazing weekend in the city! We think it’s the ultimate girls weekend in Toronto because we included everything from food, fashion, beauty, and included one of our favourite spots to stay!
First up, our fabulous hotel! We stayed at The Grand Hotel in Toronto. There is no better location in the city because it’s a short walk away from restaurants and shopping. We may have done a little late night visit to the CF Toronto Eaton Centre because it was just that close!
Once we checked in (a quick and easy process), we had a delivery from Tonic Blooms! How gorgeous are these flowers? The best part about Tonic Blooms is that their bouquets are wrapped in water packs to keep them fresh! I couldn’t put these flowers into water until the next day, and they not only stayed just as fresh as when they are arrived but lasted well beyond my expectations at home!
They are also delivered on demand downtown Toronto, and same day in the GTA which his perfect for a girl like me who isn’t organized enough to keep all of my important dates organized for gifting. They came wrapped in the Tonic Blooms signature denim and with twine which makes them look very Instagrammable!
The Grand Hotel is gorgeous with a beautiful rooftop patio (it includes a hot tub and an amazing view of the city), the perfect pool for relaxing the weekend away, and our room was probably bigger than most Toronto apartments.
The pool was probably our favorite spot. How gorgeous is this?
If you want to feel like you are on vacation, hanging out by this pool is where you need to be. It’s surrounded by lounge chairs, and it felt so decadent to hang out there! Obviously our comfy hotel robes and slippers were a must for our visit to the pool as well.
One of my favorite parts of our stay at The Grand Hotel was our room. It was HUGE! It was two levels, and it included two bathrooms, three bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, and a walk-in closet in one of the rooms that rivaled my own! We loved having so much space to get ready in, and to relax in at the end of the night!
We lounged in our cute Lazy Pants (we argued about wearing them all weekend – we were a little obsessed with how comfy they were!), and we had so much fun getting ready for our night out!
We all did our nails with the Joe Fresh Gel Look polish which I’ve been actually using for a couple months now. I love the Cotton Candy colour – it’s the perfect pink, and I’m actually wearing it now as I write this post!
It’s been my go-to polish lately because it’s got the shiny look of a gel polish, but there’s no need for a UV light and it just takes one coat and I’m ready to go. There’s no hassel that comes with an actual gel polish when it comes to removing it which is nice as well. There are 8 shades, and I love how long it lasts!
Something new that I tried was the new göt2b Volumaniac Bodifying Hairspray and Volumaniac Bodifying Mousse.
The weekend we spent in the city was very rainy and windy, so all of our curls needed a little help staying! The mouse was easy to use and had great hold without making my hair too stiff, while the hairspray had an amazing scent, and it’s staying power held up in the wind! The hairspray added a bit of volume as well. I had amazing next day hair too!
We all chose outfits from one spot, and one of the best spots to grab outfits for the spring and summer season – Guess!
I have worn quite a few outfits on the blog from Guess in recent months, and I’ve been loving their dress selection as of late. My dress was so comfortable, and even though it was fitted it had a nice amount of stretch so I could have extra bread with dinner!
We all had such an easy time choosing a dress from Guess because they have so many pretty frocks in-store right now. I would wear any of the dresses our group wore during our girls weekend!
Once we were dressed up we also glammed up! Elizabeth Arden sent over a basket of goodies to get us ready to go out, and we all chose a few different products to try.
Eleni chose the Forever Bronzing Powder and the SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster, Jenelle chose the Sheer Kiss Lip Oil (which has the coolest bottle!) and Flawless Start Instant Perfecting Primer, while Zeba chose to use the Beautiful Color Bold Kiss Liquid Lipstick and the Eight Hour All-Over Miracle Oil.
One of my absolute musts at this time of year is adding sunscreen before I apply my makeup, so I decided to go with the Presage City Smart sunscreen. It’s so lightweight and easy to apply, and really it should be worn all year round to protect my skin. It also has DNA Repair Complex and Anti-Polution/Antioxidant, so it’s a definite multi-tasker!
Another product that I wear every single day (even the days I don’t wear foundation or mascara) is a brow mascara. It transforms my brows into so much more when I have it on, so I feel naked without it! I’m completely obsessed, and I’ve been wearing this Elizabeth Arden Statement Brow in Medium Brown every day since our girls weekend!
If you haven’t tried brow mascara you must! It’s really a game changer, and this Elizabeth Arden one has a great brush to add some serious volume to my brows!
For dinner we headed to the restaurant in the hotel called Citrus. I can’t even explain to you how amazing our dinner was! We were all saying over and over again that each of our dishes was so amazing. I couldn’t believe how good these chicken tamales were – I’m craving them right now as I write this.
The restaurant had a pretty patio as well which was covered and heated (perfect for our rainy and windy weekend), but in the summer it would be so pretty! We had such a fun time at the restaurant. I still can’t get over the food – so good!
We spent our evening shopping nearby (we couldn’t help it – the mall was SO close), and after returning to the hotel we realized we didn’t have snacks, but luckily the hotel opened up their boutique just so we could grab some munchies for the rest of our night in!
I was a little excited for a couple reasons – they had chips (a necessity for me), and they had my FAVORITE chocolate bars which can be hard to find! I love Flake bars (they are British so they aren’t widely available) and so my night was kind of made!
The next day we had a lazy breakfast at Citrus Restaurant which was included with our stay, and I was impressed because it was much more than a continental breakfast. They had everything from eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast and more. We ate so much we weren’t sure how we were going to eat lunch!
Packing up to leave the hotel was so sad! I loved our fun getaway in the city, and the hotel was the perfect spot to recharge with girlfriends.
I can’t wait to head back to the hotel to enjoy more of the rooftop patio! We had bad luck with the rain and wind, but I really want to enjoy those city views!
Thank you so much to The Grand Hotel for hosting us – it was the perfect spot to spend the weekend with girlfriends in Toronto!

Greetings! Great post as always – really enjoy reading up on your parenting advice and tips. Your girls trip to Toronto looked super fun!
It can be challenging being a busy mom and sometimes a vacation is much needed. To upkeep your house while you’re gone next time I suggest hiring a house sitter! They can pick up your mail, water your plants and even look after your pets. I recommend visiting a website like Housesitter.com to view opportunities for you!
