This year I feel especially grateful for all of the good in my life. I’ve learned to appreciate my family even more this year. People will come and go out of your life, but family is your family. I’ve learned to really take a moment to realize how lucky I am to have amazing parents who would drop anything to help me out, and a brother and sister who rock. I need to work on expressing that to all of them more, but I have learned to stop and think about what a great thing that is.
I’ve been lucky to have a year where I haven’t had to worry about toxic people in my life because I’ve learned to let go of those friendships that do more harm than good a long time ago. It took me a LONG time to learn that one! I’ve had so many friends I held onto for too long because maybe I saw some sort of good in them – maybe they were fun to be around, or I felt like they had struggles so I should cut them some slack when they treated me badly.
Years later here I am in a very happy place! Obviously I still struggle with all of the things everyone else does – balancing work and home, taking on too much, not taking care of myself as much as I should – all of the regular every-day issues that everyone faces. But again I’ve had a great year because I’ve held on to some very core friends, and I’ve made some amazing new ones this year!
As many things that have come up that were difficult to deal with this year, my most important take away was that at the base of it all I appreciated what good I had. I really think that helped me out with some of the major hurdles that came up this year that I really thought were the end of the world.
I’m so excited to head into this holiday season with my friends and family! Cheers, and thank you for reading along this year! You have no idea how much appreciate every single one of you who visits the blog! Have a happy Christmas!
