As many of you know, I’ve recently moved, and I’ve been working on my home ever since! I felt like my last home was pretty complete with just a few fun updating projects here and there, but at this house I’m starting fresh! It has good bones as they say, but it really does need a lot of updating.
I’ve been slowly working through each room, but the kitchen was one I really wanted to spend some time in because of the appliances. Unfortunately the appliances that came with my home were lacking – dents and scratches all over my fridge and stove, and the stove seemed uncleanable – I don’t think the previous owners ever bothered to clean the stove once! My fridge was making some kind of humming noise, and both just seemed they were at the end of their life.
I was ready for new appliances, but this is something I’ve actually never handled purchasing before, so I was a little intimidated by the task. In the past I visited Goemans Appliances for help with my laundry room, so I knew it would be a good idea to reach out to them so I could get started on this.

I honestly didn’t know anything about what I needed – I just knew the dimensions of the space for my appliances, and I needed help from their team regarding all of the other wants and needs I had.
The brand I ultimately settled on after speaking to the Goemans team was LG – both the fridge and stove they helped me choose had exactly what I was looking for in new appliances.
I chose the LG 25.5 cu. ft. PrintProof Stainless Steel Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator with InstaView® Door-in-Door® for my kitchen. Who knew a fridge could be so much fun? Do I love the flashy and fun parts of this fridge. With two knocks the tinted glass panel illuminates so you can see inside the easy access compartment. This feature actually reduces cold air loss so your food lasts longer.
What else is fun about this fridge? Dual ice makers! I didn’t know how much I would love this feature until I had it. Dual ice makers (dispensed from the door and located in the freezer compartment) automatically produce ice so you never run out. It creates standard ice cubes, crushed ice, and LG’s exclusive round Craft Ice®! It melts slower, and chills your drink more efficiently.
Although this feature is likely meant for fancier drinks, the Craft Ice® is perfect for my sun’s soccer water bottle! He loves grabbing a couple before practice.
I love that this fridge has LG’s Smudge Resistant finish that easily wipes clean with a soft, dry cloth, and it operates using the ThinQ® app. This allows you to control different features in the app, and provides updates to your phone like when the fridge door is open. You can even pair it with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa!
My new stove is the LG Smart Induction Slide-in Range with Convection and Air Fry, and it’s been my first time using Induction! Who knew induction was such an exciting thing? Water boiling that fast? Life changing! I’ve been missing out! I find it amazing that the Cooktop Surface stays cool, even after the cookware heats up!
The biggest issue with my last stove was that the previous owners did not clean it! It was impossible to get it clean again after they spent so many years not taking care of it. This stove also has EasyClean® – all you have to do is spray the stove with water, turn the dial to EasyClean®, and after only ten minutes you can open the stove and wipe away any grease or residue.
It’s also fun that it has an air fryer feature! I don’t even need to pull out my countertop one anymore – I have it built into this stove.
One thing I ended up adding onto my order was something with my dog Chloe in mind – the Electrolux WellQ7™ Pet Vacuum. Again, this was recommended by the Goemans team! I told them about my dog, and how I loved keeping my kitchen clean, and they recomended this vaccum.
It has up to 50 minutes of charging power and has a detachable handset that you can easily attach the PetPro+ Nozzle to remove pet hair from your furniture. It also has LED Nozzle lights so it’s easy to see when you are cleaning underneath furniture, and it even has LED lighting on the nozzle.
The docking station is so slim that it’s easy to hide when charging, and I love that it matched the colour of my kitchen island.
To say I’m happy with this kitchen refresh would be an understatement!
I truly couldn’t have picked out these appliances without the help of the staff at Goemans Appliances. It can be such a difficult process – determining which appliances to choose not only to fit organically in your space, but also to differentiate between all of the brands and features available. Walking into an appliance store can be overwhelming!
The delivery process was so easy – the delivery window was confirmed the evening before, and it was really reasonable – just a two-hour window to worry about being home for. The three-man delivery team removed my old appliances for me, gave me time to clean behind my fridge and stove (this was much appreciated!), and they even helped me out with my waterline to the fridge!
They even scheduled a second appointment with me with their installation team – this pair came into my home to answer any questions I had regarding the appliances and how they operate, to check that the delivery went well, and then they worked on ensuring my water line was secure, and that both the fridge and stove were level. I couldn’t believe that this second appointment came with my delivery – I truly felt like everything was perfect when they left!
I’m so happy with my kitchen! This refresh really changed how this kitchen looks and feels. It’s nice to have a fresh start with working appliances that are sleek, and have so many special features. I’m really loving having my first stove with Induction! The fridge has not only been a big hit with the kids that come over to our house, but I love being able to look inside the fridge without even opening it.
