I met designer Liana Soper at World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto a couple weeks ago. There was no chance of me passing her by, because I was immediately drawn to her designs!

I’m a bit of a jewelry addict. I love buying costume jewellery, but that sort of stuff comes and goes with different trends, and doesn’t tend to last long without breaking or tarnishing. My favourite jewelry buys are from independent designers who make quality pieces, and you know that there is some serious love put into each design. It’s also comforting to know that on a night out you aren’t going to run into 5 other people with the same necklace on (hello H&M?).

Liana describes her designs for Liana Marie as whimsical and evocative, and she often uses vintage pieces and chain in her work.

Liana’s designs are sold in many different stores across Toronto, Hamilton, Oakville, and Collingwood, and she also has an Etsy store as well if you need a quick fix! You can find her store here

Here are some images from her upcoming Fall 2014 line. Her pieces for this collection were inspired by the period drama “Downton Abbey”.
