Where to Shop – Grand Opening of Sweet Violet and Pineapple Street

image

I’ve previously blogged about Penny & Company, Whitby’s home decor and design destination owned and operated by Michael Penny.

Michael is now opening two new stores in historic Downtown Whitby this spring – Sweet Violet and Pineapple Street.

Sweet Violet (named after Michael’s daughter Violet) will carry bed, bath and baby products. Cushions, throws, quilts, luxury soaps, towels and bedding will be offered, along with mobiles, dressers, change tables stuffed animals, gliders and cribs will make up the baby product offering.

Pineapple Street will offer fresh market style flowers, vases, gifts and decor.

Both stores will have their Grand Opening on Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at 11:00 am.

You can find Pineapple Street located at 125 Brock Street South, Whitby and Sweet Violet is located at 124 Brock Street South, Whitby.

Where to Shop – Easter With Pottery Barn Kids

I’m not sure if you know this about me, but I’m actually the reigning Easter Egg Hunt Champion in my family. It’s kind of a big deal. There was this one time I lost on a technicality, but otherwise my record is impeccable. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I take Easter rather seriously.

Now that I have a toddler I’m looking forward to not only training him on my stellar egg hunting techniques, but celebrating the holiday in a fun way for him.

Pottery Barn Kids is pretty awesome for coming up with fun ways to celebrate holidays like this. I’ve added a few of my favourite items below, along with some recipes from Pottery Barn Kids for Easter as well! Click on the title of each image to see the product on their site, or to get the yummy recipe seen in the photo.

My Favourite Boyfriend Jeans

Yesterday I made one of those fun purchases that made me excited to go home and try it on with as many outfit combinations as possible.

I’ve wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans for a long time, and I finally found the perfect pair! Well they aren’t exactly boyfriend jeans, but I found a way to make the fit work! They are Hi-Rise Jegging Crop from American Eagle, but I bought them a size up so they sit on my hips and have a baggy boyfriend jean fit.

What to Do – Valentine’s Day Ideas

Valentine’s Day is only a couple weeks away, and if you haven’t planned something you should probably start brainstorming!  I made my own reservations a couple days ago, and it wasn’t easy because my first restaurant choice was completely booked.  Don’t be like me – book now!   Instead of the standard flowers, chocolate and dinner plans, here are a crew other creative ideas to spend your night.

At the Toronto Zoo they are having their First Comes Love Adult Dinner Event.

They are having a romantically inspired dinner with a special animal visitor, an interactive group presentation and a tour of the Zoo’s Reproductive Labs led by their Reproductive Specialist Team.  Couples will learn information about parenthood amongst different species, and more.

A portion of ticket prices will go directly to support Toronto Zoo reproduction and conservation efforts.

This is a 19 + event, and runs on both February 14th and February 15th from 6:30pm until 9:00pm.

The cost is $65 per person for a zoo member, or $120 for zoo member couples, and $75 for non-members or $140 for non- member couples.
