The hardest part of a year at home for me is that I’ve had to change up the routines I’ve had for years. Is this such a bad thing? Maybe not – I’ve eliminated staying up too late on weeknights, I’ve added a short workout everyday to my weekday routine, and self-care has somehow catapulted to the top of my to-do list. I think if anything the routines I have replaced were really the best thing for me, although it’s been difficult.
I’ve always been a girl who throws on a mask occasionally or finishes the day with a clean face, but never before have I followed through on my skincare routines in such a dedicated way.
Sleep was always hard to come by for me, but I’ve found that adding a few important night time rituals has become a way for me to almost sleep-train myself! The centre of my evening routine includes Vasanti’s Age is Only a Number Elixir and their 2-in-1 Rose Quartz Roller & Gua Sha!
I’ve always understood the importance of removing all of my makeup before bed, but I haven’t always practiced this. In my 30’s I really decided to ensure I did this every night, and having a clean face is the perfect start to using the Age is Only a Number Elixir!
The Elixir is a light-weight serum and face oil which does all of the things you need it to do – it locks in moisture to protect and repair your skin, it increases collagen protection, and stimulates new cell growth.
I’m very focused on minimizing my fine lines and wrinkles, and especially freshening up my dull complexion.
The hydration from the Age is Only a Number Elixir is an instant result that makes it feel so good to finish the night with.
My evenings really start after putting my son to bed. I light my favourite candle, but on either comfy pyjamas or a robe, and I’m ready to relax!
I normally do my evening skin care routine before I get comfy to read my latest novel. The best part of my evening skincare routine is using my new Rose Quartz Roller & Gua Sha Tool from Vasanti.
I find using a rose quartz roller so relaxing. It’s honestly the best way to apply a serum. The Rose Quartz helps to release toxins and reduces inflammation, while the Gua Sha tool actually helps to define your jawline and cheekbones, along with helping promote micro-circulation.
The Age is Only a Number Elixir targets all signs of aging, which is some great multitasking while you are spending your evening relaxing reading a book!
Increased firmness, skin elasticity and the instant hydration are some of the benefits of this Elixir, and it’s all because it’s ingredients include natural oils and active ingredients. Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 that helps increase skin elasticity and prevent water loss, Pomegranate Seed Oil fights free radicals, promotes regeneration and repairs and strengthens skin by stimulating collagen production, and Hyanify® boosts hyaluronic acid production in your skin.
Just a few tips on using your Vasanti Rose Quartz Roller & Gua Sha Tool – apply 3-4 drops of Age is Only a Number Elixir all over your face, and then use the roller first. Gentry roll upwards and outwards starting from your neck in one direction.
Repeat 5-10 times, and be sure to be more careful around your neck. Use the Gua Sha too in a “scrapping” motion, lay the tool flat against your skin, and glide against skin in an upward and outward motion 5-10 times.
I guarantee that this nighttime routine will relax you to the point that your reading time will be short! It’s so nice to end the evening with a little time for myself. It’s something simple and easy I can do on my own during this time when staying home is a must!
