Our Hornblower Niagara Adventure

 

 

We LOVE travelling to Niagara Falls! Our son calls it “Mountain Falls” (I suppose because of the height), and we never correct him because we think it’s adorable!

For his birthday again this year we went to the falls and surprised him with a cruise on the Hornblower. We just told him we were going on a boat ride to the falls, so he really had no idea just how close we would go to the falls!

We picked up our tickets and headed down the ramp to the elevators which brought us to the boat dock.

This was actually a super cool part of our adventure! There were a few different patios with comfy chairs, and spots you could grab food or a drink! I didn’t expect this at all! It was such a scenic spot to hang out that we decided to wait a bit before lining up for our cruise! We hung out a bit after our boat ride since the view was amazing!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once we got onto the boat we were again surprised that the boat wasn’t filled to capacity as it could have been. We just assumed that it would be difficult to get a spot at the front of the boat, but we just walked up to the front easily, and they left the boat half full. This was not because there weren’t enough people to fill it up – there were a lot of people with tickets to hop on board, but we were so happy we weren’t packed in like sardines. It was a really well-run system really – once you had your ticket you could hang out on one of their patios, or walk down the gangway the boats and board. Because it was organized like this we really didn’t wait in line at all.

We were so happy to be able to move around to the boat once it started moving! Since there was always another boat on it’s way back to the dock, there was a constant stream of people boarding boats for their adventure.

We donned our supplied rain jackets before boarding, and had an amazing view of both the American and Canadian falls. This was AMAZING. It’s a must-do in Niagara. Our son absolutely loved seeing the falls this close – he wasn’t scared at all, and he loved every minute of getting wet and enjoying this vantage point of the falls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We had an amazing time! Really, I can’t emphasize more how fun this little adventure was, and if you are in Niagara this summer or fall you need to take a ride on the Hornblower.
