Last year when Christmas rolled around, I realized I had been so busy preparing for the holiday season that I had forgotten to focus on my health. I had spent so much time over those last couple of months running errands, attending holiday events, and stressing about the details that I didn’t take a moment to take care of myself, and the result was that I missed out on enjoying the holidays to the fullest.
This year I decided early on that things would be different! If I didn’t spend time keeping myself healthy, I would likely later suffer the consequences of taking care of everyone and everything else except myself! Why wait until the new year to re-focus on your health?
There are a few things at the top of my list for prioritizing my self-care including making time for healthy meal-prep, making exercise a priority and starting to take a multivitamin daily again.
To find the multivitamin that best suits me, I partnered with Centrum and used the Find Your Centrum Tool (you can try it for yourself here) to complete a super short questionnaire. Once complete, the tool gives you more information on the Centrum product that fits what you’re looking for!
For me the suggestion after the questionnaire was Centrum for Women tablets. I found out earlier in the year I had low levels of Vitamin D, so this multivitamin is a great way to help fill in gaps as it contains 100% of the recommended daily intake value for Vitamin D.
It also helps support immune function and helps maintain bone health, healthy skin, and helps in energy metabolism.
Not only did I start taking my Centrum daily, but I made a pact with myself to set aside time to make meals rather than eating fast food even though it’s the easier route.
When my schedule is this packed, I tend to take less time to work out since I have what I think are more pressing errands to run. It’s a slippery slope for me, because what it really means is that I don’t have time to take care of myself. My effort to keep my workouts going keeps my head clear, and it makes me feel so much better about myself.
With all of the hustle coming out of the holiday season and heading into the New Year, my best advice is to spend some time making your self-care a priority.
Take those moments you need to have a break. Keep working out and don’t let go of that time that you spend on yourself. Make time to create your own healthy dinners rather than passing through a drive through.
There are lots of little changes that can have a big impact your life, and ensuring that YOU rank highly on your own to-do list is one of the best ways to ensure that you stay happy and on top of your health!
