Do you switch up your skincare routine as the seasons change? I didn’t use to, but the weather in Canada has been so incredibly extreme that my skin has demanded a change periodically.
A couple months ago I was on Instagram and commented on a photo about how much I loved the packaging of the Lipidol products. I had seen another blogger mentioning loving them, and I was intrigued. I loved the simplicity of the packaging because it invoked a feeling of them being refreshing and clean products.
I had the opportunity to try the products out, and I moved beyond how pretty they looked on my counter and focused on their benefits!
Here’s the sciency-scoop:
Skin has a natural way of looking after itself. It produces oil known as lipids. To maintain your skin’s natural way of working you should be using oils daily.
Enter Lipidol – it’s the world’s first range of oils for daily skincare.
The first thing I tried was the Cleansing Body Oil in the shower. I take HOT showers, so I leave the shower every time with very dry skin. A product with oil is perfect for situations like this – I could just apply it to wet skin, and my skin basically ate it right up! It has a light lime scent which was really refreshing as well, and the smell was not at all overpowering.
After my shower I applied the After Shower Oil. It made sure that all of that hydration from my shower would stay on my skin. It had a bit of chamomile in the oil which left a nice lasting scent, and I didn’t even need to add lotion after my shower – my skin still felt hydrated.
The most fun of this group of products? For me it was the Cleansing Face Oil! I used a cotton ball with the product and applied it to my dry skin and watched all of the dirt and makeup come off my face! I added a bit of water later and it turned into more of a watery cream which which was not only soothing, but made my face squeaky clean! It was actually very fun to use because it took EVERYTHING off my face!
Next up I used the Overnight Face Oil to sooth my skin and hydrate with overnight. It had a very light fragrance, and it didn’t play havoc at all with my sensitive skin. I found that the next day when I applied my makeup on my face my skin wasn’t any more oily, and I had a clean slate to work with. Often I used the Cleansing Face Oil again in the morning so I had the perfect base to get started on my makeup routine.
The only product I didn’t use at first was the After Shave Oil, but one day I decided to give it a go on my legs after shaving. Actually, fun fact about me – I’m a little obsessed with shaving. I shave my legs EVERY single time I shower. So a lot. I think that’s why my skin can be much dryer on my legs, so I thought I would give this After Shave Oil a go on my legs. It felt so good! I thought it might sting a bit for some reason (that’s the preconceived notion I had in my head about after shave), but because it was an oil it just made me that much smoother. Basically I decided guys shouldn’t have all of the fun with after shave, and I’m glad I gave it a try because I liked it!
Lipidol Canada has a price point that can’t be beat. That basically means you can afford to switch up your skincare routine easily without breaking the bank, and without needing to take out a loan when you use up these products and need to buy more!

These products were provided to me for review, but all opinions are fabulously my own.
I really want to try this brand. I have sensitive skin as well and have a few facial oils I like (Bio Oil is one), but this line looks fab.
