This summer has been a strange one for us! It started with us being away for the first few weeks on trips, and once we got into summer we felt like we were playing catch up!
Usually at the beginning of the summer I work on our front porch – planting flowers, adding some decor, and making it a bit more summery! This year I completely missed the boat and didn’t do a thing. It was my biggest regret that I didn’t finish working to he porch, so I thought I would finally finish this little job before summer’s end. I teamed up with Home Depot Canada to get this project done!
As you can see the before shot is pretty bland and blah!
Our porch needed a couple things to spruce things up – the first being flowers! Because it’s that time of year, I planted mums in our decorative urns (I bought these from Home Depot over 5 years ago and they are still going strong!), and added a few more to the steps. Even that made a big difference!
Next we wanted to add more greenery to the front, so I picked up these pots from Home Depot, and some shrubs.
We didn’t want these pots falling over all of the time so we made sure they were short, and heavy!
Next up a few more finishing touches – we bought a new pot for our birch branches (my husband put them in cement for me) so they looked a bit more polished, and we picked up a decorative pillow for our porch chair.
Voila! Suddenly things are looking a bit less sad on our porch for the end of summer. I love the cute little touches we added to brighten things up a bit. Finally I finished this summer project that really needed to be done.
Thanks so much to Home Depot Canada for working with me on this post!
