Trench Coat – Kensie | Leather Skirt – H&M | Ribbed Sweater – Forever 21| Thigh High Boots – Forever 21 (similar) | Sunglasses – TOMS | Clutch – Chanel | Broach – Chanel

I’ve been trying to add a few different light spring jackets to my wardrobe since the weather has been so up and down lately. I am pretty sure it’s going to be a cold spring (whenever it arrives!) so I want to have the perfect mix of layers for the season.

This trench is is much less structured than a traditional trench, but that’s why I love it. I think it looks so much better without tying the belt at the waist and leaving it loose. There are no buttons to even close it so it’s good I like it open!

What do you think of my new Toms sunnies? I thought they were a really fun look for me since I usually wear pretty basic sunglasses. They are super lightweight and are unisex.

Have a great week everyone!

Long Vest – Marshals (similar here) | Jeans – American Eagle Outfitters (similar)| Sweater – Dynamite (similar) | Blouse – Joe Fresh | Shoes – H&M | Clutch – Chanel

I’m so excited to stop wearing my winter jacket and start layering more as spring comes. This long vest from Marshals was not only a great price at $39.99, but I loved the neutral colour and length.

It almost looks like a classic trench coat, and since it’s still a little chilly outside and the vest wasn’t super warm I layered a blouse and sweater underneath.

The slip on faux leather shoes toned down the outfit to be a bit more casual, and as usual I love wearing lots of white in winter because it looks so fresh.

Hope you are having a great week!

I’m a girl who loves to shop, but keeping within my budget is always an issue. Just ask my husband! When I know he’s going to see my credit card bill at the end of the month I either make sure I’m not home the night it arrives so he has time to “cool down” and remember how much he loves me, or alternatively I plan to get to the mailbox before he does to create a game plan on how I’m going to justify my purchases.

I was recently gifted with some of the best budget-control measures that I know of when it comes to online, in-store, and cross-border shopping – prepaid cards!

Knowing how much I had in my budget I was able to create a shopping list of spring must-have items for my upcoming holiday’s in the sun and sand. I created the list above knowing that I had a budget, and I would need to stick to that budget because it was already set with my prepaid cards.

Here is why I love prepaid cards so much:

1. These cards are pre-loaded with a set dollar value so they are very budget friendly. There is no way I can go over my shopping budget because the card is loaded with a pre-set amount. A husband’s dream come true! Once the balance is depleted I can reload the card if I wish which is very convenient as well.

2. You can use a prepaid card anywhere on the card network (American Express, MasterCard and Visa) for both online and in-store purchases. I am always using my credit card online which is so much less secure than a prepaid card. Fraud and identity theft is less of a concern when shopping with prepaid cards compared to shopping with a credit card.

3. You can use prepaid cards at any store as opposed to gift cards for specific retailers. Don’t you just hate it when your Aunt buys you a gift card for your birthday, and it’s from somewhere you know you will never shop at? There is a huge amount of freedom with a prepaid card, and with the reloadable option they are beyond flexible.

4. Prepaid cards can be used universally. This means you can make purchases anywhere in the world the card is accepted. This is huge for someone like myself who loves to travel. Just last year I was shopping on trips to Las Vegas, New York City, and all over the Caribbean on a cruise, and it would have been so much more convenient to use a prepaid card then converting cash to the proper currency for each country. It’s much safer to bring a prepaid card rather than cash in case of theft as well.

Floral Dress – H&M | Suede Over the Knee Boots – Forever 21 {Sold out – Similar} | Purse – Chanel

While I realize it’s not quite spring yet (especially since snow has been falling around here this week), I still think it’s time to inject a little bit of spring into my wardrobe! Just a few short months ago I was so excited to layer sweaters, vests, scarves and jackets, but now I’d give anything to wear just one of those layers.

I’m starting to think about what my spring wardrobe will look like, and one of the main staples will be floral patterns. This dress is from H&M, and it’s the perfect transition piece between winter and spring because the dress has longer sleeves and a great lining to keep me warm, but bright flowers to bring some colour and a hint of spring to the outfit.

I’m also starting to wear more white and shades of nude to brighten up my wardrobe a for the season change. I’m not ready for shorts and miniskirts yet, but until it’s warm enough I’m going to start bringing more floral pattern’s into my outfits as the months get warmer.

Have you noticed that many stores are starting to bring out their bathing suits, beach cover-up’s and sandals into the floor? It’s a sign that spring break is coming, and it reminds me that I can start thinking about putting those heavy sweaters away very soon!

What are you doing to get ready for spring when it comes to your wardrobe? Or are you not thinking about it at all? Let me know in the comments!
