Dommed Cropped Trouser: Club Monaco | Ribbed Sweater Tank: Found in store at Club Monaco, similar here | Shoes: Zaful

I don’t often dress my age, so when I do I feel like I am pretending to be a grownup. I’m the one always checking to make sure my skirt isn’t too short before heading to parent/teacher interviews, and making sure that I’m not wearing track pants that say something on the butt before heading to a play date. Sometimes I try to dress like a parent, or how a parent should dress in my head.

It’s very rare I buy dress pants, let alone trousers, so they had to be pretty special. These cropped trousers from Club Monaco are a great alternative to a dress because they look great with heels, and because of that they look elevated in style over a regular-length style of trousers.

The cropped top is very conservative and just seems to look appropriate somehow with these pants. Normally a crop top is very casual, but because of the high neck and material of the tank, it seems like it compliments the pants and is probably the dressiest way I can think of to wear a crop top. The high waist on the pant definitely helps as well in making the outfit more stylish.

I really love this outfit, especially since it is a little different than what I would normally wear! It is very comfortable, and it’s a great outfit for fall because of the lightweight materials in the tank and pants. I think the pants will look great with a sweater tucked into them as well!
