Canada’s Wonderland Opening Day 2018 + New Lumberjack Ride!

Summer is just about here, and although it was a little chilly today we had an amazing time at the media preview for Canada’s Wonderland! We were hosted at the park bright and early to check out the new rides for 2018, and to have fun at the park all day.

Grand opening day at Canada’s Wonderland is April 29th, and the weather is looking to be much warmer if you are ready to visit the park!

This summer I will be sharing all about some of the fun events happening at the park, so stay tuned to the blog for some exciting things you won’t want to miss this summer from Canada’s Wonderland!

We LOVE heading to the park from spring to fall, and we’ve had a season pass for the past 5 years straight. My son is finally tall enough this year to enjoy more of the rides, and in past years we have spent our days eating our way through the park (hello funnel cake!) and enjoying the rest of the rides he was tall enough for.

One of our favourite things to check out has been Halloween Haunt for me, and our son loves Camp Spooky.

Today we got familiar again with the park and had such a fun time!

I couldn’t wait to check out the new rides for 2018, and one I had a chance to ride today was the new Lumberjack! This one was so much fun – with your feet dangling you head upside-down on what looks like an axe, opposite of the other riders on the other axe. This one was so much fun – my stomach definitely dropped, but that was the fun part. This is one you definitely want to add to your must-try list for this summer!

Another new ride opening at Canada’s Wonderland this year is Flying Canoes which will open this spring.

My son had a lot of fun (as he always does in Planet Snoopy), and for the first time we got him on a roller coaster – The Fly! He was so proud of his first time on this coaster!

My son’s new Canada’s Wonderland bear friend ended up coming along on all of the rides as well with him. He decided to name him “Ocean” for some reason – he’s not sure why either, but that’s his new name!

Before we left for the day we had to make a couple stops for some of our favourite park snacks! For lunch we were able to sample some of the food that will be at the park this summer (everything was SO good!), but on our way out of the gate we stopped at Tiny Tom’s Donuts, and of course for funnel cake!
