I change up my makeup a bit in the summer to lighter formulas, and I use a bit more of a natural palette. I love to added a bit of bronzed look to my face because I use some serious SPF on my skin, and this new Estée Edit Flash Illuminator was a great way to add a bit of illumination to my face!
The best part about of this illuminator is that it can be used in so many different ways.
The shade I’m using is called Day Light which is more of a rosy hue that can be used as a blush, or I liked it mixed with my foundation to add a glow to my skin.
Even mixed with just with a moisturizer it gives a sun-kissed look.
The illuminator not only highlights but hydrates. It’s like having great lighting in a bottle, and it feels great on your skin as well.
This product is so lightweight. It’s so fun to mix it with my different foundations and moisturizers by adding more or less for a different look.
Some of the other illuminator shades are meant to provide different looks; for example Night Light provides a bronzy color that could double as a contour cream, and Spot Light is a pearly white colour that adds a soft-focus highlight.

This product was provided to me for review, but all opinions are fabulously my own.
I’m the first to admit, I torture my hair. It’s not a nice thing to admit, but it’s the truth.
Each day I start with blow drying my hair with high heat, and then I use a hair straightener to make my dry, damaged and frizzy hair look sleek and straight. In it’s natural state, my hair is nowhere near what I want it to be.
I know every day that I go through my styling routine I’m not doing my hair any favors, but it’s a vicious cycle I can’t break!
I recently started trying some new products from John Frieda® to see if I could repair some of the damage I have done, create a new routine that is a bit more loving to my locks, and can give me that sleek and straight look I am going for.
My hair savior has absolutely been the John Frieda® Sheer Blonde® Hi-Impact Restoring Shampoo and Conditioner.
After one wash, my hair already felt moisturized and rejuvenated. The formula was meant for blondes, and the shampoo helped to protect the colour of my hair. My hair felt much softer and more smooth each time I used it. A week after I had been using these products my hair felt like it was already on the road to recovery!
Next up in my new arsenal of products was the John Frieda® Sheer Blonde® Hi-Impact Restoring Oil Elixir.
After jumping out of the shower I would spray my damp hair through the ends of my hair. I’ve always had a very oily scalp, but I noticed this formula was lightweight and didn’t make my hair oily at all.
The product contains sunflower oil, which repairs damaged hair and replenishes blonde hair.
I can’t stand it when my hair becomes a brassy shade of yellow instead of blonde. The John Frieda® Sheer Blonde® Hi-Impact Restoring Oil Elixir not only strengthens hair, but also brightens up dull hair by repairing damage and replenishing the colour.
One of the best ways to combat damaged hair is less processing.
I knew I had to use styling heat less often, but it was a difficult habit to crack. I tried out the John Frieda® Frizz-Ease® 3-Day Straight™ Flat Iron Spray to see if it lived up to its name.
I evenly sprayed the product onto my wet (or towel-dried hair), combed it through my hair, and then used my blow-dryer on my hair as usual.
Once I actually finished straightening my hair it was transformed into a sleek, straight look that was shiny and seemed salon-styled. The heat-activated formula wraps each strand to protect against heat damage, block frizz, and keep your strands straight for days.
My style lasted until my next shampoo which I spread out to every two days, and my glossy locks stayed straight right up until then.
Needing to wash and heat style my hair less meant I was saving my strands from over processing them, so I really loved the John Frieda® Frizz-Ease® 3-Day Straight™ Flat Iron Spray.
Using all of these products has not only repaired some of the damage I had already done to my hair, but it has also helped prevent future damage as well.
I love what my hair is looking like now – smooth, straight, shiny, and a little livelier since I have been using this arsenal of products!

As a FLARE Style Scout, I received compensation for participating in this program; however, all views are my own.
Years ago I was that girl who would bake in the sun – no shade, no sunscreen, not worrying about a burn because it would turn into a golden tan later.
Things have changed and I’ve realized how completely crazy that whole idea was, so now you will find me taking breaks in the shade and lathering on sunscreen.
Another perfect alternative (and a much healthier one) is using a self-tanner. I was never really a big fan of self-tanner since my first experience had me with orange splotches on my skin, clothing, and any other surface I touched.
Fast-forward to last week when I tried Bioderma’s Photoderm Self-Tanner, and I realized what I was truly missing all of this time!
This amazing little can contains a moisturizing self-tanner that you really have no chance of messing up. The spray from the can is more like a mist, and it evenly distributed onto my skin adding a nice glow.
The mist dried almost instantly and I can tell you there was ZERO transfer onto my clothing! This had me pretty happy – my skin was dry in seconds. The instructions indicated that to get a tanned look I should mist myself once a day for three days, and then once every two days. I felt like I had enough colour after two days of misting, and then I went ahead and re-applied once every two days. The results were pretty amazing, and my skin looked evenly tanned and felt moisturized.
The spray is also paraben free, alcohol free, and hypoallergenic. You can learn more details about my new favourite self-tanner here!
