Dress – TOBI | Sunglasses – Dior | Purse – Chanel | Earrings – Chanel | Shoes – Town Shoes

Who needs a little black dress when you can have a little white dress? The fit of this sheer panel dress was so perfect it surprised me. Normally I have most of my clothing tweaked by a seamstress because I can never seem to buy the perfect fit. This dress needed no alterations, which I was pretty happy about.

I haven’t worn the sheer panel trend at all yet, but I really loved that it made this dress so much more interesting! I thought it would be a bit more scandalous to wear, but the hem of the dress made the panel placement easier to wear.

Fit and flare is my favourite style of dress, so I felt like it was a flattering look overall. I paired the dress with my Chanel flap bag and Chanel double C earrings, and included my Dior sunnies that I’ve had on repeat all spring.

Tobi offers new customers 50% off their first order! They have so much more to shop including Boyfriend Jeans, Trench Coats, Harem Pants, Booties, Earrings, and Evening Dresses.

5 Tips for Aging Beautifully-2 copy

Getting older isn’t fun. I’ve spent a lot of time in denial about getting older, but there are little signs creeping into my life that have been giving away that I’m increasing my number of birthday candles each year.

I’m a little more sore the next day after a work out now, I have a little less energy than I used to, and signs of aging have been starting to creep into my face.

They say that health is a feeling of youth, and I think for me that is a very important statement.

Aging does bother me a bit, but I have to admit I’m more focused for the most part on how I feel.

I feel like I’m 22 in my head (and according to my taste in music and reality TV shows), so I think it’s important to stay as healthy as possible with the age I think I am in mind!

There are a few things that I do each day as part of my daily routine, and one of them I just added 4 weeks ago. I decided to try something called youtherory Collagen supplements, and that has become a part of my every day routine.

I picked up my youtheory Collagen supplements at Rexall, and they were pretty easy to find on the shelves!

How did my 4 weeks go with youtheory? Well first I’ll tell you about what my personal tips are for aging beautifully.

The most important part about these tips are that they easily flow into my daily life. All of my tips are things that I do every day, and are part of my regular routine.

My 5 Tips for Aging Beautifully

1. Drink Water!

This one has always been a hard one for me, but it’s so important to keep up your intake of water every day. It not only helps to flush toxins from your body, but hydration keeps your skin looking fresh.

2. Get Enough Sleep

How much is enough sleep you might ask yourself? Enough that when you head to Yoga you don’t use mediation time for a nap. Sleep is not only important to functioning in your daily life and giving yourself enough energy to stay active, but it’s also important to give your body time to repair itself while you sleep.

3. Do Something Active Every Day

Even if it’s just for 20 minutes, do a workout at home, take the dog for a walk – anything that gets you moving and keeps your body in shape.

4. Wash Your Face and Apply Moisturizer

I used to be that girl who went to bed in her makeup. Those days are gone now and I’ve realized how important it is to clean my skin every night and remove all of my makeup. Taking care of your skin is a huge part of aging beautifully, and applying moisturizer to freshly washed skin can help keep you look more like a pretty grape than a shrivelled raisin.

5. Daily Intake of youtheory

My newest addition to my daily routine! Every morning with my bottle of water and in the evening at dinner I take my three tablets of youtheory. What happened after 4 weeks of taking youtheory Collagen supplements?

My nails grew! This was a big deal for me. My nails have always been brittle and short, so this was the first change I noticed.

Every time I get my nails done at a spa my manicurist makes a comment about my thin, brittle nails, so you can imagine my excitement when suddenly my nails grew long and strong! It took two weeks before I noticed this change, and I’ve been so excited about the difference.

youtheory Collagen supplements are dairy free, soy free, and contain no gluten ingredients. They boost protein intake, and youtheory is the only Collagen brand on the market to combine Collagen Type 1, 2 and 3.

Type 1 and 3 support your hair, skin, nails, tendons and ligaments, while Type 2 supports joint health.

It’s now been a little over 4 weeks, and following these 5 steps steps have made me feel the age I think I am in my head! youtheory believes that health comes from the inside, but it does a pretty great job of making me look good on the outside as well.

My hair grew so much faster than usual in those four weeks using youtheory (trust me I know, my roots came through so much faster), and I feel like my skin has some life in it.

Collagen fights the effects of aging, so I’m excited to keep taking this supplement to fight what I can in an easy way as part of my daily routine.

Dress – Romwe | Earrings – H&M | Shoes – Charlotte Russe | Purse – Louis Vuitton

I usually avoid black at all costs, especially in the summer. If I buy anything in black I have to really love it!

While I was on the hunt for summer dresses in bright colours I fell in love with this turquoise dress with a pretty pop of pattern.

I think the fit and flare style of this dress is very flattering as well, and it was easy to pair with wedges.

My Toms sunglasses are so lightweight and a much different style than most of the sunglasses I wear. They seemed to pick up on the colour of the dress in the lenses as well!

The one thing that makes me sad about my little Louis Vuitton bag I wore with this dress is that I bought it before the iPhone 6 plus came out, and so my phone won’t fit in my bag. It’s one of my favourite little clutches so I still wear it all the time, whether it’s practical or not.

I hope you are having a great week!

Sunglasses – Dior | Top – SheIn | Jeans – American Eagle Outfitters | Shoes – Call it Spring | Bag – Prada | Choker – Claire’s | Earrings – Chanel

Every year I have the hardest time finding jean shorts, so I decided to hit the stores a little early this year to try my luck looking for some. American Eagle Outfitters was having an amazing sale (buy one pair get the second half off), but of course I didn’t find one pair that worked for me.

Luckily I didn’t leave empty handed, and instead left with a couple new pairs of jeans including this pair I’m wearing in the photos.

I love the distressed denim that AEO carries, and this pair has a bit of a stonewashed look to them as well.

This bell sleeved top is so much fun! I absolutely love the sleeves, and I love that the top is long enough to tuck in. I’ve pretty much only been wearing the chokers I have when I wear off the shoulder tops because I think it just looks that much more dramatic.

The weather was so hot this weekend that I’m not sure that I’ll be wearing jeans in the daytime for the next few months, but this is a great evening look for the cooler nights in the summer.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Refreshing My Summer Patio with the Help of Homesense!

Refreshing My Summer Patio with the Help of Homesense!

I never actually realize how badly a space needs a makeover until I compare my before and after photos!

This spring I decided to spruce up my patio to get ready for summer, and although I liked how we had decorated our back deck, I didn’t realize how sparse it was until I took these photos.

We use our back deck in the summer to hang out with friends and have drinks while enjoying the view.

As you can see we had a bit of a nautical theme going on, but I really needed to spruce things up a bit! This is where Homesense came in!

A few of our accessories were already from Homesense (the decorative basket on the table, the single chair), but I knew that to do a refresh of my space Homesense the perfect spot to go. I didn’t want to do a complete makeover – I loved the furniture and pillows I already had. I just needed to liven things up, which is exactly what I think I did!

I added in some additional pillows in orange and white to add more colour to the space. Each pillow was from the same brand so they were the same size, and priced at $24.99.

I also added a couple of colourful throws to keep warm on summer nights and to add even more colour to the space ($24.99 each).

I planted flowers into this bright yellow pot from Homesense, and it was an amazing find at only $16.99.

Our little wooden buoys were from a trip to Nova Scotia that I could never find a perfect spot for, but I thought they looked great in this corner.

The table was one of my favourite spots to decorate!

My favourite item on this table? This amazing pompom cultery holder! It was only $19.99, and HELLO it has pompoms on it! It was such a fun piece that I needed in my life and it was perfect for the table.

These blue cups are so ornate, but they are actually plastic so they are perfect for summer drinks and only $3.99 each.

I have to admit that I have a few more lanterns like this one on the table already in my home, but I needed ANOTHER one because it was perfect to add to the decor ($49.99). I really love my new ice bucket which has what I thought looked like nautical stripes, and it’s huge so it’s perfect for parties (only $19.99).

Finally I added a few more touches like nautical napkins ($3.99), a colourblock-style platter in yellow and white ($9.99), and I already had this cutting board from Homesense ($16.99) that I added to the table.

Overall I am so happy with my patio refresh! I really felt like my space was a little bleak without all of the colour I added to my patio, and I am so happy with the results!
