Whenever I step into the Fairmont Royal York Hotel I immediately feel a little more…royal! Once I walk through the revolving door into the hotel I’m immediately greeted by the scent of the fresh lobby flowers (their arrangements are incredible), and one of the hotel staff always takes a moment to stop and say hello.
I wrote a full post a couple months ago about Afternoon Tea in the Library Bar, and on social media I’ve been posting about the beautifully curated events I’ve been attending at the hotel.
Last week I was at the hotel for a small gathering in celebration of Canada 150, and it was an amazing night!
We gathered in the newly renovated Luxury Executive Suite, and it looked incredible. Yes, I’m totally going to name drop here – Justin Trudeau just stayed in this suite! I suppose I’m fan-girling a bit, but it was kind of exciting to know.
The evening was hosted by the lovely Rebeca from Wishbone and Clover Media, and as usual she brought the fabulous to this party!
We sipped on champagne and themed-cocktails for the evening, and I have to admit I stayed pretty close to the food at this party. It was all in the details when it came to this fabulous spread!
The Queen’s Official Birthday Cake was served at the party, and I have to admit that I ate every last bite! I couldn’t imagine turning down the chance at having it – it was such a treat! It was brought to the hotel’s Library Bar Afternoon Tea Series by the former Royal Family’s pastry Chef Darren McGrady. This cake was featured in Library Bar and various other Fairmonts across Canada from October-December 2016.
For the rest of the night we enjoyed the beautiful suite, enjoyed the cocktails, and indulged in all of the delicious food.
We ended the evening they way any birthday party should – by signing Happy Birthday and lighting sparklers! We had so much fun!
