How often do you wake up in the morning and say to yourself “right after work I’m going home to bed”? I say that to myself most days, but that’s rarely what actually happens! Instead normally I head off to a dinner with friends, an event, a get-together, or something that doesn’t involve going to bed early!
Not all of us can carry a separate change of clothes with us for the after-hour fun we try to line up after work hours, so having a more versatile work wardrobe can make things just a bit easier when you are on-the-go.
Gone are the days when I wear something to work that I couldn’t wear outside of the office! Instead I’ve learned that my work wardrobe can closer reflect my personal style, and still look professional at the same time.
It’s all about versatility, and when I shop for workwear I keep in mind that I want to wear each item in my off hours as well.
I was recently invited to shop at the Ann Taylor location at Yorkdale, and I had a hard time choosing just one look to put together for fall! I’m a big lover of dresses and skirts, but there were quite a few pairs of pants in fun jewel tones that I could have taken home with me.
Everything I tried on looked so polished and ready to mix and match with some of the essentials they had in-store.
Check out the new video Ann Taylor launched to celebrate their Let’s Work Together collection! You can take any of these outfits from day to night.
For my own outfit, the colour combination I put together is so reflective of what fall is all about – a deep mustard skirt with a bow detail paired with a light and flattering turtleneck in the perfect contrasting green. These colours are quintessential fall!
My boots are MAJOR! They are a little edgy, and take my look from prim and proper to a little more stylish and trendy. These boots will get some major play over the next few months.
