It’s really hard to be motivated to do anything at this time of the year. It gets dark so early, and it’s SO cold. Most days I don’t feel like doing much of anything during my weeknights! I have been forcing myself to go to events and to the gym, but I feel like I’m grumbling the whole time.
I’m hoping I will feel a bit fresher and more energetic once we hit February! It might be that I don’t have a lot planned for this month, so starting up travel in February will hopefully get me going again.
This weekend I did a lot with heading to Toronto’s Interior Design Show and spending one morning hanging out with my son at Playdium, plus going to a soccer game and practice for my son and a game for myself, but somehow I still fitting in watching the whole new Cheer series and the Aaron Hernandez documentary! It sure sounds like I was busy, but somehow the weekend didn’t feel that way. By the way, both Cheer and Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez were so good.
I’ve been trying to take a bit more time away from my laptop and doing a few things that are a bit more creative! I’ve done some crafting with my Cricut (I’m about to make something REALLY cute), and I’m catching up on printing photos and creating photo books, and a bit of scrap booking! I am so behind – I used to scrapbook all of our trips, and I’ve saved all kinds of mementos from our trips but I am YEARS behind! I really need to catch up so I’m trying!
Hopefully a bit of a creative break will help with the winter blah’s I’m feeling. I’ll be seeing some sunshine in February so I can’t be too down, but I definitely need to work on feeling motivated. I’m getting everything done that I need to, but it just feels a bit more like “work” to get it all done lately. I love what I do and what I’m doing, but I just don’t feel energetic in general.
Maybe it’s time to switch up my eating habits! That Arby’s Regular Roast Beef Sandwich probably didn’t help on this Monday afternoon! A salad may have been a better choice. I’ll try to make a few improvements to my eating habits this week to see if it helps!
