As excited as we were for Chloe’s arrival, the one thing really weighing on my mind was how we were going to potty train her! With our last dog it was always a struggle which was where my concern came from.
Once Chloe arrived we realized right away that things were going to be different this time around! She was peeing on command which was AMAZING, but she wouldn’t pee outside. She was just using an indoor mat which we found strange, but we were ok with it.
Our eventual dilemma was that our deck is on the second level, so we needed a way for Chloe to pee without going down a huge set of stairs! We also knew we wanted to travel eventually with her and didn’t want to use a pee pad. We decided to try something completely new – the Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet.
The Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet is a portable indoor/outdoor toilet for dogs with synthetic grass. It allows our puppies pee to drain through the grass to the base as it’s slightly angled and trickles into the waste container. This means it’s easy to remove the waste container and easily clean up! The waste container holds two liters of liquid and is made of a material that reduces odor.
You can also place a Pee-PodTM in the waste container which is a disposable pod lined with Wee Sponge Powder that solidifies into a gel once it comes into contact with liquid.
At first we weren’t sure what Chloe would think about the Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet, but we started gradually by placing her pee mat on top of the Pet Loo so she was used to jumping up to pee, and then we had her pee directly on the Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet. I cannot believe how fast she took to it!
The Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet is perfect for the deck because she can pee on it, and I don’t need worry about her peeing on the deck, our outdoor summer carpet, or having her try to use the stairs to get to ground level. It’s actually super cute looking too so I don’t mind seeing it on our deck.
The Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet comes in 3 different sizes, and we chose the smallest for indoors, and the medium Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet for outdoors. Every day we pour warm water over the grass to keep it clean, and it’s recommended that 2-3 times per week that we spray the Pet Loo Portable Pet Toilet grass with Wee CareTM Pet Toilet Cleanser and allow it to dry. Once a week it’s recommended as well to thoroughly spray the Pet Loo with Wee CareTM Pet Toilet Cleanser and leave for up to 10 minutes, and spray down the entire until to keep it smelling fresh.
