After a few major projects under our belt, I told my husband it’s time for another to get started! I’m the first to tell him that this project with my closet was amazing, and he did a great job on our upstairs hallway project as well, but it’s time to start another major one – our basement!
I mentioned in my previous post about Improve Canada that it was the perfect place to visit when planning a project.
There are more showrooms than you could visit in a weekend with project inspiration, and professionals who can take on virtually any home project.
Two showrooms that really know how to execute a home renovation are PYRAMID Home Improvement and Metropolitan Tile & Stone.
Metropolitan Tile & Stone has an incredible showroom at Improve Canada. My jaw was on the floor looking at some of the gorgeous tile options they had on-hand. They act as a supplier if you are working on your own project but are looking for quality materials, or they can handle everything from design, products and installation so you can have everything done professionally.
I realized after visiting their showroom that when I flip through magazines and see beautiful wall installations of marble, or floors that look seamless and sleek that these are the products they are using.
In addition to their boutique showroom at Improve Canada they have showrooms in Vaughn and Kitchener as well, and although their gorgeous installation projects look incredibly posh and glamorous I learned that they have products that suit every budget. I think when you are working on a home renovation project with a budget it’s easy to assume you can’t afford everything you want, but speaking to the experts at Metropolitan Tile & Stone practically about your budget can ensure that you can create something beautiful that is also within in your cost constraints.
I know we are supposed to be working on our basement renovation, but our long-term plan includes gutting our master bathroom. The completed projects from Metropolitan Tile & Stone make me want to put the basement on hold and create a grand bathroom to lounge around in!
We want to put a bathroom in our basement, and a few of the other projects they have completed would be a great fit for the esthetic we are looking for, and for our space.
The dreamy kitchen’s Metropolitan Tile & Stone have completed are truly stunning, and I love the inspiration I’m getting from these projects!
Metropolitan Tile & Stone has been the recipient of the Top Choice Award for the 3rd year in a row in the category of Best Ceramic Retailer in the GTA. I truly enjoyed speaking with them about their products which they seem very passionate about, and their work speaks for itself – it’s stunning! The next showroom I visited was PYRAMID Home Improvement! They were amazing to speak to about different products and services they offered, and I was impressed that they were so helpful in suggesting other showrooms visit. It made me feel like they were really interested in helping customers like myself shop around for the best fit for their project.
PYRAMID Home Improvement had a fun showroom because it had a great assortment of different products you could order from them. While some showrooms relied more on photos and large scale installations that you could browse, it felt more like I was shopping when I was in PYRAMID’s showroom.
I love looking at things like faucets and sinks – I suppose it’s the shopper in me, but I’d prefer to see things in person rather than choose them out of a magazine. Their showroom at Improve Canada had flooring samples including tile and hardwood, vanities, and backsplash samples.
Not only can you shop for all of the products you might need for your own home renovation project, but PYRAMID also acts as a general contractor and can either install certain products or will complete a whole project for you. I was especially interested in what they have done when it comes to basements since that’s our next major project.
One important thing to note is that you can actually source your own products if you wish and still hire PYRAMID to act as a contractor to complete your project.
I especially love being able to see a finished project as a blank canvas. To see what a final project looks like before it’s styled is a bit more fun for me because I can imagine how I could decorate it myself, and also so I can focus on the work put into the project. The flooring chosen, the walls, the trim – I love to see a completed space before it’s filled with furniture so I can get an idea on what the space is all about.
I get so excited when I look at this finished basement photos! I am so excited to finish out own basement, so seeing these sleek finished basements give me a lot of inspiration. I love that PYRAMID focuses on working with designers, builders, architects, and home owners to do affordable luxury renovation work. I think often home renovations can feel out of reach, but it’s nice to learn about a company that is willing to take your budget into account, but still use the word luxury when it comes to completing projects. Staying on budget can be a difficult thing to do when it comes to completing a project, so I appreciate that PYRAMID makes this a focus.
If you are looking for contracting services like framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, a full renovation, or even just looking to source items for your own project, PYRAMID Home Improvement was a great showroom to visit at Improve Canada!
