TNA Niseko Parka – Aritzia | TNA Brisco Boyfriend Fit Flannel Shirt – Aritzia | Denim x Skinny Jean – American Eagle | Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots – Soft Moc

Last week on the blog I talked about winning the #STCTrendspotter contest with Scarborough Town Centre, and I showcased one of my looks I put together during my spree.

This week I’m talking about another look I put together from my shopping trip, and it’s all about winter.

Unfortunately, winter is coming! The temprature has already dropped, and I actually saw snow flurries on Saturday night!

In this post I’m showing off what I would call my winter uniform for my casual weekends trying to walk through snowdrifts and keeping warm outside with winter activities.

I love flannel shirts from Aritzia, but this year they came out with a boyfriend fit flannel shirt I love. I bought this same pattern last year, but I never felt like it was long enough. I bought this TNA Brisco Boyfriend Fit Flannel Shirt in XXS, and it’s perfect.

If you read the blog you know I often wear American Eagle jeans, and this dark rinse pair have the perfect amount of stretch. They are super dark, and unfortunately I washed them for the first time with a white pair of socks which are now a very dark blue.

I love his jacket! I have had a few TNA jackets in the past, but this TNA Niseko Parka is great because it’s short in the front and a bit longer in the back. I love that it comes in heather grey! I really like the color of the fur as well. It’s a nice change from my regular long black TNA parka, and it’s great for days I want to be warm, but look great at the same time.

Finally – my new boots! It’s probably my first pair of winter boots since I was a kid. I totally get all of the hype about Sorel’s now – they are so comfy! I picked these Joan of Arctic boots because they match my new jacket, and because they are nice and tall so there is hopefully no chance snow will fall down my boots. I really loved the fur on these boots as well since they match the fur on my jacket!

Before I bought these boots I tried on quite a few more that I really liked. Check out some of my other favourite boots from Scarborough Town Centre below!

There’s one person I love to shop for more than myself – my son! There are so many great kids clothes out there that mostly come from independent labels.

Our latest discovery is out of Vancouver called darling + Bandit. It’s designed and created by a mother in Vancouver, and her designs are playful and sassy for kids.

We were lucky enough to receive a shirt from the newly-launched darling + Bandit collection, and it’s pretty adorable.

I think my son has been taking some notes from my style posts, because he had a few poses up his sleeve.

There are some pretty great designs, and my son is rocking the Mr. Smoochable T-Shirt.

darling + Bandit t-shirts are printed on sweatshop-free apparel made in Los Angeles, CA. There are more than a couple shirts that I wish were in my size!

Review of Jax Coco Kidz

Jax Coco Kidz review sparkleshinylove

My son loves it when deliveries come to the house for him, and last week a package arrived that had him pretty excited.

I had never tried giving my son coconut water before the container full of jax coco Kidz arrived, and honestly I just hadn’t thought of it.

Usually my son drinks water, milk or juice with his meals or when we are on the go. The easiest thing for me to do is grab a juice box to throw in my purse for when we are heading out to a play date, or pack his lunch with a juice box because they are so easy to transport.

jax coco Kidz are in tetra packs so they are just as easily transportable, and they come in fun flavours with packaging to match so they look appealing to kids.

My son wanted to try them right away, so he started out with the banana flavoured jax coco Kidz. There was no doubt he loved it because he drank it right in front of me, and fast!

He immediately wanted to try another one! I couldn’t even protest because I wasn’t winning this fight – he was begging for another one. I let him try the grape flavoured jax coco Kidz next, and he finished that one just as quickly.

jax coco Kidz have up to 70% less sugar than orange juice, so I didn’t feel too badly about letting my son drink so much coconut water in one sitting. They have no preservatives, are not from concentrate, and are made with 100% pure micro filtered water and contain either whole fruit purée or pure cocoa.

Basically these jax coco Kidz only lasted one more day in our house before they were gone. I had a lunch I needed to pack for him the next day, and the only issue I had was when he asked for another coconut water. It blew my mind how much he loved jax coco Kidz.

Graham & Brown’s Wallpaper Week Featuring Glamour

Graham & Brown Wallpaper Week Glamour Trend

It’s officially Graham & Brown’s Wallpaper week, featuring blog posts from all of the Graham & Brown Ambassador’s each day.

When Graham & Brown asked me to choose one of the 7 Feelings of Wallpaper to profile on the blog, is it any surprise I choose Glamorous?

My day is not only fabulous on it’s own (who doesn’t love Saturday?), but I also got to profile one of the most fun themes.

When I think about glamour I think about decadence, style that’s over-the-top, luxury, and all things fabulous.

What encompasses the meaning of all of those words more than gold? Metallics in general tend to seem glamorous in interior design, but gold stands out as the height of decadence.

Graham & Brown Glamorous Trend

The Athena White Gold wallpaper has a simple, thin gold detail, but has the ability to make a room seem posh and delicate with it’s colour and pattern.

Graham & Brown Aurora Beige

The Aurora Beige/Gold was another wallpaper that stood out to me. It’s bold pattern has the ability to make a room look rich and full. Both patterns are so lovely, I decided to stick with the over-the-top theme and choose both for my mood board!

Graham & Brown Grace Printed Canvas

Elizabeth Printed Canvas

The Grace Printed Canvas and the Elizabeth Printed Canvas have a very feminine and elegant feel to them, and I thought they matched the glam theme of the wallpapers I chose.

White is another glamorous colour because it’s so fresh and clean. Not many people can have their everyday furniture in shades of white because of everyday wear and tear, and those who do give off the impression with their decor that their taste is fresh and decadent.

Accessorizing with a white throw and candle give off a glamorous spa vibe, and finishing with a fun sequinned throw pillow again provides and escalated level of decor. A tall white and crystal lamp completes the look.

I had a lot of fun working with this theme! I hope my style has evoke some feelings of glamour for you!

Must-Have’s for Fall

Fall weekend wear sparkleshinylove

1. Chloe Marcie Mini Saddle Bag, Gray
2. Dreamers By Debut, Lace Trim Pullover
3. Frame Le Colour Ripped Jeans
4. Dynamite Asymmetric Plaid Scarf
5. 1460W Victorian Flowers Doc Martins
6. Layered and Long Gold Bar Necklace

There is no season I love dressing for more than fall. Layering makes an outfit so much more creative, and it’s fun to piece them together.

My list of must-have’s for fall are pretty basic, but I think they are essentials for the cooler months coming up.

Sweaters with a layer of lace already sewn in aren’t easy to find, but every time I see one I want it! It’s so hard to create this look by layering a lace top underneath because there aren’t many with a great long cut to go under a sweater. Having it already part of the sweater is a perfect fit.

Must-Have's for Fall sparkleshinylove

Black jeans (especially ripped ones) are on most must-have lists for fall, and these ones on my list by Frame have long slits from knee to thigh with a skinny fit.

Saddle bags are all the rage right now, and this mini Chloe bag is my dream purse. It’s small and perfect for running errands or shopping with your hands free.

Chunky necklaces have stepped aside for layered chains, and this gold bar necklace in my fall favourites list is customizable to add anything from initials to a favourite quote.

Since the weather has turned colder I’ve started rotating my endless supply of blanket scarves. This season there are so many more patterns out there compared to last year, so you really could find one for every day of the week. Dynamite has an amazing selection of beautiful prints and colors.

Doc Martins have some really fun patterns, and this floral pair add a pop of colour to this mostly neutral-grey outfit. Florals are a great trend for fall right now, and this print can be mixed and matched with anything from stripes to chambray. I found these Docs on UnionJackBoots, but check out the site for more floral patterns (and other fun patterns too).
