I’m not exactly sure what happened this weekend, but it started out warm and sunny and somehow we ended with cold and snowy!

Saturday morning was still a little bearable, and I had a bit of time in this easy weekend look.

This look started with these shoes from Novesta. I chose the canvas colour for these shoes because I thought it had a nautical feel to it, and I wanted to wear them with bold navy and white stripes, or a pretty white dress like this one.

Novesta makes classic sneakers which are handmade in Slovakia. They don’t use chemicals or glue in the assembly of these shoes, and they are actually environmentally friendly shoes since they are made with natural rubber, 100% cotton and linen.

Each shoe is handmade, and I thought they were really fun and comfortable to wear! You can shop them online here!

Joe Fresh has so many great white dresses right now (a few I have linked to below), but this one is actually an XL from the girls section! I love to shop the girls section because the clothes are adorable, and their XL size is just like a women’s XS.

My market bag is from a local shop called Penney & Co., and it’s the perfect bag to wear with some of my spring and summer looks. I added my own tassels for fun, and the whole outfit is perfect for a day of shopping in the sun in an outdoor market.

My earrings are from H&M and they were only $14.99!

I absolutely love staying away from the grocery stores as much as I can in the summer months, and instead finding different farmer’s markets to shop on the weekends. My market bag may be a little too cute to fill with produce, but I’ll at least consider it since that’s what the bag is meant for. Ok, who am I kidding? I’ll probably make my husband carry it. Yes, that sounds more likely!

When I saw this lace bomber jacket at Zara, it was game over. I bought it without a second thought, hardly looking at the price because, well hello it was a lace bomber jacket!

Practical it is not (I was freezing during the course of these photos, but I sacrificed my health for the blog obviously!) but it’s my new favourite jacket.

Zara has been amazing lately – everything they have launched this spring has been very strong. I find myself spending time on their website scrolling through the clothes and planning my next excuses to the hubby for my high credit card balance (by the way, even my husband was impressed with the lace bomber!).

This top was one I picked up earlier in the year from – shocking I know – Zara, and I paired it with my new J Brand Capri jeans from Aritzia (Capri is the style name, not the fit), and my Chanel broach and clutch.

My lace up flats are from Aldo, purchased last season (sorry!), but here are some similar ones from the same store.

We walked around the pier near the lake last weekend, and my little Yorkie Maverick came along for the trip, but he wasn’t a willing participant when it came to photos. He was more interested in chasing after other dogs, so maybe next time I can get a better shot with him!

A few weeks ago I attended the #QuoSweet16 event, and it was so much better than my own Sweet 16!

Guests were treated with the chance to preview all of the new Quo Cosmetics for 2016, and the array of products was very impressive.

I had quite a few favourites from the collection, and at the end of this post I will be giving my favourites away!

The True Hues Eye Shadow Palette ($24) has six shadow shades, and I am totally in love with the Romance Novel group of colours which are perfect for a natural look.

I’ve been obsessed with my brows over the last 6 six months since I’ve been trying to grow them out, and this Quo Brow Kit ($18) is great for filling in the gaps for those of us who don’t have the thickest eyebrows.

There are two shades of powder, and the eye brow gel helps to set the brow, and the applicator is amazing for getting your brows in check.

The best part about this Lip Gloss Set ($18) is the size of these little glosses! The colours are shiny and natural, and the applicator brush is set in small tubes that fit perfectly in your purse.

Getting a hold of a Contour Kit ($23) itself can often be difficult because they sell out quickly. The best part about this one? The price! I haven’t seen a contour kit at this price point with such a great colour palette before. Each kit includes a bronzer, highlighter, and contour colour for feature definition, and it includes a brush for application as well.

The Effortless Curl Mascara ($12) has a curved brush so lashes can be curled and separated without the use of a lash curler, and it comes in both Black and Blue.

Finally the Art of Lining Vinyl Liner ($12) dries quickly and stays put – all day! It makes the perfect fine line, and it’s my favourite liner right now.

How was your Mother’s Day weekend?

My Mother’s Day weekend was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! We spent Friday doing a few style shoots (including this one), met with a landscaper who will be working on our front yard this month (exciting!), and spent the rest of the day outside at the park and the beach.

Saturday was so fun because we picked up my new SUV, and we were so excited to go for a drive we took a little road trip to Niagara Falls and had a blast!

I spent Mother’s Day spending some time in Toronto having brunch with my sister and mother at Figo (review coming soon), and then the rest of the day with my own little family.

The weekends keep getting warmer, but I’m still sticking to jeans for the most part because it’s easier for me to wear long off the shoulder tops like this one from Banana Republic.

This one is a size small petite, but I actually could have used an XS because of how wide the top is.

I love the tie-up details on the sleeves, and I think my closet is going to start yelling at me if I buy one more pinstriped top, but I really love them right now.

These yellow fringe earrings came in a few different colours from H&M, but I decided to go with yellow because they look great with all of the blue I have been wearing lately.

These Just Black jeans from Jean Machine still have the perfect stretch after a few washes, and I love that the rips haven’t gotten that much larger yet. I love throwing things into the dryer (even when you aren’t supposed to) and these jeans have been holding up well despite the fact that ripped jeans tend to look worse for wear after putting them in the dryer.

I hope you had a great weekend, and happy Mother’s Day!

Necklace – Happiness Boutique | Dress – Forever 21 | Handbag – Louis Vuitton | Shoes – Town Shoes

I love it when jewelry actually says something – literally!

This necklace is from Happiness Boutique, and I was drawn to it because I love wearing messages around my neck. I also have jewelry with my own name and my son’s name, so adding “Love” to my latest collection of jewelry was a fun addition.

This pretty necklace was the perfect accessory with this off the shoulder dress I wore last weekend. Lately I have been wearing minimal jewelry, and I love the simplicity of this necklace.

Happiness Boutique not only has necklaces, but also bracelets, earrings, rings, dresses and vintage inspired clothing.

sparkleshinylove readers will get a 10% discount for orders over 19 euros on Happiness Boutique website until June 2nd by using the code “sparkleshinylove” at checkout.

For more details on Happiness Boutique, visit their website here, on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
