This Christmas I received two new amazing books that I couldn’t wait to dig into! I feel like I’m a difficult book person to shop for. I love reading Heather’s Pick’s from Indigo, but I love reading obscure biographies as well – there is no rhyme or reason to what I like!

For Christmas I received a book on Princess Margaret from my husband called Ninety-Nine Glimpses of Princess Margaret by Craig Brown, and my sister bought me Touched by the Sun: My Friendship with Jackie by Carly Simon which I can’t wait to get started!

As usual, I read a lot this year! Not quite as much as the year before I’m pretty sure, but enough to write about some of my favorites here in case you are looking to pick up a few new books to get the year started. I always have a book on the go, but lately I’ve spent a lot of time on my phone before bed. I know this is not a great thing (especially since I haven’t been sleeping well lately), but sometimes that’s just what I want to do before bed!

I’m going to try to do better and spend most nights reading, but that usually keeps me up late as well!

For the first time ever I pre-ordered a book – I have NEVER done that before! For someone who is an avid reader it might be surprising, but I’ve always thought it might be faster to hop on over to Indigo and grab the book the day it comes out. This time I ordered Jessica Simpson’s Open Book (coming out in February) because I know she signed thousands of copies and she was giving them away with the pre-sale. I am a HUGE Jessica Simpson fan, so I’m hoping one makes its way over to me AND I want to see her on her book tour. She is the person who introduced me to Louis Vuitton, so I am forever grateful.

My husband and I drove more than a few times to Massachusetts last year, so we really got into some great Podcasts! I listened to a few on my own as well, so I thought I would add them in. I’ve been meaning to reach Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow, but I haven’t yet so in the meantime I’m listening to the Podcast.

Here are my favorite reads from last year, and my favourite Podcasts!
