Birthday recovery mode is in full effect this week. I ate WAY too much this weekend. Usually that’s not a bad problem to have, but I seriously can’t believe how much food and cake was consumed this weekend. My weekend was really fun, so I really can’t complain! I had the chance to do some Indoor Skydiving on Friday, and the next day I was off for a pedicure at one of my favourite spots – Her Majesty’s Pleasure and brunch with my girlfriend at KOST. That night I had dinner with my family and my parents which was SO good!

Sunday morning I slept in (awesome!) and my husband and son surprised me with an Adidas tracksuit they picked out themselves (I was so impressed – it was perfect!), and I wore that out to my favourite taco spot La Carnita, and we headed next door for ice cream at Sweet Jesus. The perfect day! I have this weird thing about taking the long way home, or going for a drive, so we picked up Starbucks and headed to the Beaches for a bit. My husband is also taking me away for a weekend in a few weeks to celebrate my birthday which I am so excited about!

After all of the indulgence I’m ready to get my life back on track, and by that I mean no more cake please!

As we head into Easter the weather is getting warmer, but as I write this the April showers have already begun. I can’t be too sad about that because I have the most adorable rain coat EVER from Talbots to wear!

Don’t you just love this jacket! It reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream, and who doesn’t love ice cream and also therefore this jacket? I just love it – it’s perfect for spring, its practical, and it works well as a stand-alone outfit. As I say that, I have to mention this cute top I’m wearing underneath – I had to take off the jacket for a few shots so you could see it – it has scalloped edges and is the perfect blue to brighten up after the winter months.

I’ve also paired this whole look with a nautical bag that has an anchor detail, and it’s a cross-body bag which seems to be my favourite style right now!

Although I’ve been buying spring dresses and sleeveless shirts lately, there is definitely a transition season in between that we are in now which is rainy and cold, so a look like this is the perfect compromise because it’s practical, but also a fun way to welcome spring into my wardrobe!
