For a girl who has a bit of a shopping habit, sometimes it’s surprising how few of the actual essentials I have.
The basics are my problem – my socks never match and often have holes in them, until this year I didn’t have a very warm winter jacket, and all of my gloves are pretty but not so warm!
One thing that I really needed was a spring jacket – not a blazer or one of those moto jackets I’m always wearing that don’t always zip up or have a hood!
This Abisko Lite Jacket from Fjallraven Canada checks off all the boxes of a practical spring jacket, but I love the bright red colour it comes in! So much of my wardrobe checks off as being pretty or cute, but function does not often play a factor. This jacket is waterproof, has a hood, and is super compactable!
I paired the jacket with one of my many nautical striped tops, jeans and my suede boots that are taking me into spring.
Back to the practical conversation – most of the handbags I carry are NOT practical. So many of my bags are lined with suede or leather, and if one Goldfish goes astray from my son then I’m left with irreparable damage.
Toting around this cute re-Kanken Mini is a special edition bag that is actually made from recycled plastic bottles! Since I have been toting it around my son has actually stolen it and has been using it to tote his monster trucks and colour books from place to place. I have been using it to store his snacks as well while we are on the go, and it’s cute enough that I will throw it on myself! Much better than those character backpacks that are not-so-stylish and break very easily.
