March Break Adventures

March Break Adventure

My goal for March Break was to make sure my son had the best week ever, and I’m pretty sure now that we are nearing the end he’s been pretty happy with his week.

I decided last week that I would make a photo album for him of his break, and I can’t wait to surprise him with it on Sunday!

My favourite day with him has to be our day in Toronto. I thought I would write up a little post on what we got up to. We started the day off the day at the ROM.

Actually, to be perfectly honest we started off the day with our morning visit to Starbucks (he has his own cute little order), and then we stopped at Chanel quickly because Momma needed a new pair of spring shoes! My little guy luckily doesn’t mind pit stops to places like that – I suppose he’s used to it by now.

My husband and I first brought our son to the Royal Ontario Museum when he was just over one year old, so he had no recollection of being there and mostly he was just napping in the stroller when we walked around.

This time my son was so excited because he knew that we would be seeing dinosaurs!

We spent hours at the museum, and my son acted as the tour guide reading the map and bringing us all over the museum. His two favourite spots were the dinosaurs, and the Egypt exhibit.

We stopped for a snack at Druxy’s ROM Café for a quick snack along the way which was nice, and obviously we had to stop at the gift shop! My son picked up a giant dinosaur and a dinosaur book.

Tips for your own visit? There is coat check! Take advantage and shed that parka because it’s not an easy thing to carry around. You can also rent strollers for $2 at the coat check areas as well.

We parked near Bay and Bloor because I had to do that super quick shopping stop first, but the ROM website has a couple other parking options nearby.

There are also online maps to plan your visit, and tour options daily if you want to make sure you see everything and get more information on your trip.

Our next stop was the Shangri-La Toronto for afternoon tea!

I’ve been to the hotel before for a regular High Tea service in the Lobby Lounge before, but this time because of March Break the hotel was having a kids-themed High Tea.

My son loved the idea of this huge tray arriving with food that was perfect for him. He had mini sandwiches, banana bread with caramel dip, and all kinds of sweet treats for dessert.

I loved hanging out with him at the hotel and just watching him have this very grown up type lunch was really cute!

The week isn’t over just yet, but so far it’s been a really fun week for both of us! I hope you are all having a great week as well!
