We all spend so much time getting our wardrobes ready for the seasons changing, but what about updating our home a little to match the weather outside? I love changing things up with each season – a new wreath on the front door, a new door mat, some fresh seasonal candles, new pillows to update the décor, and a few other light touches which can be inexpensive, but pack a refreshing decorating punch!
I picked up a few things on Amazon.ca that I love to refresh my home, and I thought I’d share them with you, along with a few other things I love as well. Sometimes a new season comes and I want to completely redecorate a room, but I don’t always have the funds to support that urge, so that’s where a little refreshing can go a long way.
What else do you do when the seasons change? I usually pick up new air fresheners for my home to match the season (right now I’m using a Pumpkin Spice Waffle scent in my air fresheners so my house smells good enough to eat!), plus I tend to change up my front porch flowers from summer to fall mums.
I also tend to go shopping for new books for my son that reflect the season as well. Right now I’m looking for Halloween themed books (the friendly ghost kind!), and soon I’ll be looking for Thanksgiving and Christmas books.
I always seem to start baking more as well once fall hits! Suddenly I want warm and cozy food like fresh muffins, bread, and I definitely cook more soups and stews! I’d say fall is probably my favorite season because it seems like a fresh start. I love the idea of starting over, and making little changes in my life like refreshing things goes a long way to feeling good at this time of year.
