There was a time, a very very long time ago that my husband didn’t know his brands. I could come home with shopping bags and say things like “oh, I just picked up these shoes on sale somewhere” and he would nod and be none the wiser that I was flashing a designer good in front of him.
Fast forward to present day, and my husband knows ALL of the brands. He knows bags, shoes, jewelry – the works. I really trust his opinion when it comes to making a major purchase, but that also means now there is no sliding a new purse past him without him having an idea of the price tag.
A couple weeks ago I visited the new Nordstrom Rack at Vaughan Mills, and I came home with an INCREDIBLE find – a brand new pair of blush Valentino Rockstud flats! Normally I’m trying to inconspicuously bring bags into the house, but this time I was ready for an unveiling when I got home!
My husband knew at once when he saw the red box they came in what they could be (and I saw him frown slightly) but then I threw off the lid and told him the damage – less than HALF the retail price. He was impressed. I’m surprised he didn’t start a slow clap for me. He almost had an air of disbelief, but he follows my blog so he could totally find out the truth likely documented in an Instagram Story. This was the real deal, and I was proud of my fabulous find.
It was almost a Cinderella moment to find these shoes not only in this colour, but in my size. I really had no choice but to buy them, and I’m so glad I did because I’ve worn them a few times in just a couple of weeks.
My blush wrap coat is the perfect match, and I love adding my Girolata bag because it’s interior matches as well.
I’m so excited because there is another Nordstrom Rack opening in Toronto next month, and I can’t wait to check it out and see what other amazing finds I can impress my husband with! He’d probably be more impressed if I showed some restraint and just window-shopped, but he is smart enough to know this girl doesn’t window shop when there is a good deal!
